High school life can be tough for freshmen.  With a new environment, they can be very impressionable.  Aside from school issues like academics and peer pressure, they may have challenges in their personal life.




Senior Shalonda Shamily's career goal is to be a translator and being an exchange student could help her.

Senior could leave the country for an educational journey

Senior Shalonda Shamily was awarded an opportunity by the Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE) to be an exchange student this summer.  CIEE is a non-profit organization that provides educational travel to high school students.  “I’ll be studying modern and standard Arabic and I’ll also be studying the dialect that’s spoken in Morocco, which is also Arabic,” said Shamily.

The evolution of the automobile has transformed how Americans view the traditional car. Henry Ford brought cars to the masses with the utilitarian Model 5, and then in 1935 he successfully crafted and produced the Model A1, which was designed for comfort, space, and affordability.

Crusaders start mentoring group to help youth Making A Difference By: Jade Brookins and Tatiana McAfee A group of male seniors at King have come together in a positive way to help inspire and mentor middle school boys and break the negative cycles that plague inner-city youth.  These eight seniors in Making A Difference (M.A.D.) are Don Barnes, Desjuan Davis, Desmond Foster-Carter, Jamal Hairston, Kamari McHenry, Lorenzo Scott, DeMarcus Taylor, and Jalin Willis.

“I’m ready to win” Crusader commits to Michigan By: Daimanique Stinson When all the college offers were coming at senior Ambry Thomas he was overwhelmed.  As a Crusader, Thomas has played receiver, corner, safety, punt-returner, and kick-returner which culminated into 41 offers.
