History teacher wins $2,000 in school supplies

History teacher wins $2,000 in school supplies By Camryn Walker and Shontell Butts Several weeks ago junior Hafizur Rahman from Benjamin Carson High School wrote an essay about history teacher Cody Lown for a contest from Comerica Bank called the “Tools for Schools Contest.” Rahman won the contest for his 400-word essay about Lown. The contest asked students to write about how their chosen teacher made an impact on their life and why they think the particular teacher deserved school supplies in their classroom.

Senior Spotlight: James Moore

A leader is a person that guides or is a directing head of a group or movement. From being captain of the football team to helping senior advisors plan senior activities, James Moore would definitely be qualified as a leader. Moore went to Renaissance High School for his freshman year, but transferred to Benjamin Carson High School because his brother attended the school.
