T’Ajmal Hogue, Christie Jackson, and Diego Navarrete certainly all have two things in common. Right now, they are seniors at Cass Technical High School. But, in the fall they will be freshman at one of the top Ivy Leagues in the country; Harvard University.
On April 7, Cass Tech Advanced Placement Literature teacher Vicki Green took her seniors on an annual trip to Marygrove College. The field trip is an extension to The Contemporary Author Lecture series that her students participate in each year at Marygrove College.
On Feb. 1, thousands of high school athletes across the country signed their letters of intent. Cass Tech’s football team had the largest number of signees in Michigan. This year's Cass Tech team went undefeated and won a Division 1 state title under coach Thomas Wilcher.
After the New Year, journalists and automotive lovers have something to look forward to annually: The North American International Auto Show. The Auto Show is held at Cobo Hall in downtown Detroit. A tremendous amount of professionals from all over the country come to the Motor City to preview the automobiles during preview week. This was my second year attending and like last year it was a remarkable experience.

Cass Tech head football Coach Thomas Wilcher seems to keep producing some of the best athletes in the nation. He has inducted a total of 12 Army All American players into the U.S Army All American Bowl. The game is played in San Antonio, Texas, every January.
Cass Tech’s Javon Jones is not your typical dancer. He grew up in an athletic family, playing lacrosse, basketball and soccer for hours daily. His level of focus and discipline to routine led him to dance after hanging out with cousins making routines in the basement.
The Sound Mind, Sound Body Football Camp was created in 2004 to increase the number of football student-athletes graduating high school and earning college scholarships in the Metro Detroit community.
In early 2015, when heavily recruited running back Michael Weber found himself in the middle of a major decision -- whether to attend college and play football at the University of Michigan or the Ohio State University, he remembered words of wisdom Cass Tech football head coach Thomas Wilcher passed on to him.
