King students visited Tennessee State, Miles College, University of Alabama at Birmingham, Alabama A&M University, Central State, and Wilberforce University.
King's Eti Umana is teacher of autism spectrum disorders. He also has been teaching for about 15 years.
This year King students worked with Dan Wolford, the founder and instructor of Lyrical Crusaders, an after-school program that provides students with support and equipment to make music.
Tisha Lewis joins King after serving as a ELA master teacher at Spain Elementary-Middle School.
