By Joi Arnold and Amanda Irving CT Visionary

Cass Tech theater instructor Marilyn McCormick will retire after 39 years this June. McCormick was recently featured on the WDIV-Channel 4 news on to promote the debut of the play “Sunset Baby” in the CT Black Box Theater.

“Sunset Baby took two years to finish,” McCormick said, “It is about a man, a father who was imprisoned and he was imprisoned because he was a revolutionary and his political activities were suspect.”

Sunset Baby written by Cass Tech’s Marilyn McCormick former student Dominique Morisseau.

This is the first play for the new theater company BMA Incorporated, which McCormick founded with two of her former students. BMA Incorporated is an adult theater company in Detroit for aspiring entertainers.

J. Mallory McCree a former student of McCormick, and an actor on the TV show “Quantico” said: “I am in full support of BMA Productions. BMA is where you want to get started if you’re an artist in Detroit, if you are interested in theatre, television or film. You name it, if you are a creative spirit BMA is where you want to start.”
