Renaissance: Class of 2017’s Successful Car Wash

By Kaila Bell Staff Writer

On June 6th, Renaissance’s Class of 2017 held a fundraising car wash at Super Car Wash located on 10 mile road in Southfield.

Sophomores and their sponsors planned to have this event. In order to participate in this fundraiser, students had to sign up for certain shifts, which ranged up to 3 hours per student. Extra credit from economics teacher Mr. Smith was offered to everyone who was involved.

“This was a great opportunity to not only get extra credit, but to earn community hours and to get a head start at paying off our senior dues.” said Treasurer Taliah Hoye.

Students were asked to contribute by drying off cars for tips or promoting the event by holding posters in the area. All of the time-consuming work had paid off. The students had raised over $2000 in just tips and concessions.

“I’m extremely excited about doing this because this fundraiser was very successful. In the end, we had accomplished our goal! We made more money than we expected and look forward to doing this event again.” said Vice President Jaylen Bradley.
