On March 13, the Renaissance varsity choir won the Superior ranking at the District Choral Festival. Led by choir director Ms. Debose, several students participated in the full force to victory. This choral festival took place at Wayne State.

“We were so pumped up and ready to show off our days of practice voices,” said junior Shelby Tate.

There were several other high schools there such as Cass, DSA and Cody. Among all of those schools Renaissance reigned number one.

“I was so shocked and proud that we beat out a lot of great singers,” said junior Kri’shonda Mason.

Coming back with lifted heads and a great title, our choirs hard work had finally paid off.

“Seeing our growth thus far since freshman year makes me anxious to see what’s in store for next year,” said junior Ciera Hill.

Next on  RHS Varsity Choir’s agenda is a performance at the State Solo and Ensemble Festival at Avondale High School.
