The time for Holiday and Christmas themed movies and entertainment has come to an end, and Hollywood is turning out new genres of movies for the spring and summer season.
With the melting of the snow comes new comedies, action flicks, mystery thrillers and dramas for consumers and critics alike to watch and review. The hype and excitement for fresh movie fodder has Renaissance students discussing trailers and buying early tickets for these top six anticipated movies of the new season.
“The Divergent Series: Insurgent”: Tris (Shailene Woodley) and Four (Theo James) search for allies and answers in the ruins of Chicago as they find out what Tris' family sacrificed their lives to protect and why the Erudites will do anything to stop them. (fandago.com)
“Divergent is like Hunger Games, only better. It’s my favorite book series and I love the movies so far,” said sophomore Christian Whitaker.
“Furious 7”: A dead man’s brother is after Dom (Vin Diesel) and his crew, seeking revenge for his death and putting the entire Toretto gang in danger once more. (fandago.com)
“I love the Fast movies for everything- girls, cars, guns and explosions,” said sophomore DeSean Brook.
“Home”: When Tip (Rihanna) meets a fugitive Boov called Oh (Jim Parsons) who craves friendship and fun, the pair set out together to find Tip's mother. (fandago.com)
“Home looks really cute. The commercials make me laugh and I like animated movies, even though some people say they’re childish,” said Freshman Spring Davis.
“The Avengers: Age of Ultron”: When Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) jumpstarts a dormant peacekeeping program, things go terribly awry, forcing him, Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Captain America (Chris Evans) and the rest of the Avengers to reassemble. (fandago.com)
“I’ve been waiting for this movie since the first one came out. The hype makes it look so epic.” said sophomore Joshua Bryant.
“Insidious: Chapter 3”: In the third installment of the Insidious trilogy, psychic Elise Rainier (Lin Shaye) tries to protect a teen from a malevolent supernatural entity. (fandago.com)

“I can’t wait to see Get Hard,” said Freshman Kyran Walker. “Kevin Hart’s going to be fooling.”
