India Mullen is CMA’s valedictorian

Valedictorian is a title used to distinguish individuals who have achieved the highest level of academic excellence. To be able to achieve this designation you must be determined, strong-minded and dedicated. The valedictorian for CMA’s class of 2024 is India Mullen with a grade-point average of 4.0476.

Mullen has been a Pharaoh since her freshman year, and she has overcome being virtual and back to in-person classes. Being virtual for a whole year and a half in high school was a real challenge for some but not for Mullen. She still upheld her studies even with the transition from and back to in person.

Throughout it all Mullen has kept up an exceptional performance in her studies.

“It feels amazing! I am glad to have met another achievement, what made it possible for me was the help of my teacher, family, and friends,” Mullen said.

Perseverance and undoubted determination are what a true valedictorian beholds and those are two traits Mullen has shown.

“I think India deserves valedictorian for our class because she’s been very consistent with her grades and makes an effort at everything she does and always thinks about her class,” said Kenneth Johnson-Baker.

Mullen is an upstanding student with true intention to soar in her academics and go far in her career path. She is involved in her class of 2024 officers (secretary), CMA ambassador, a Dollars for Scholars, and winning futures member. Yet she still juggles everything with such grace and gratitude.

“India has been a diligent and dedicated student throughout her years in school. Her grade-point average is based on her ability to focus in class and always be cognizant of the importance of being an active participant in class. She is a student who does not make excuses and completes her work with maximum effort. On top of that, she has been a leader among her peers by serving as a class officer and by holding positions of authority in JROTC,” said Corey Stokes, a teacher at CMA.
