The Cass Tech counseling department hosted its first Career Fair on April 16 in the CT Arena.

Counselor Stephanie Rountree, along with the counseling department, wanted to provide students an opportunity to speak to people of different career paths and explore possible future career options.

Professionals in the fields of liberal arts, business and marketing, military, architecture, engineering, IT, and chem bio were on hand to discuss possible career choices to students in attendance.

Rountree said she was pleased with the student response to the career fair.

“The highlight for me is when I got there [and] saw how excited the students were … and seeing the smiles on the students’ faces,” said Rountree.

Senior Sarai Cox said she was impressed with the variety of representation at the career fair. The career fair opened her eyes to possible careers in fields she had not previously considered.

“It was a wide range of different things like liberal arts, architecture, engineering,” Cox said.

Rountree said the career fair aims to return next school year.
