Cody High school students attended their homecoming with a Sneaker Ball in the gym on Oct. 7. For the first time in decades, the homecoming dance took place in the gym, and it was beautifully decorated.

The athletic director Antonio Baker said, “It is a lot more work being at the school but a lot more convenient and cheaper for everybody.”

The staff and students decorated the gym with tables with tablecloths, big throne chairs for pictures, and a 360-picture booth with lights and colors. Along with a DJ and photo booth, students enjoyed the taco bar, which included a dessert table.

During the dance, everyone enjoyed the DJ, dancing and taking many pictures of this special occasion. Later that night, Cody the DJ announced the homecoming court.

Cody social worker Hortensia Porter helped hype up the crowd dancing.

“Everybody was vibing and dancing; it was a great time,” Porter said.
