Cass Tech students respond to school safety survey

Nov. 30, 2021 is a day that most students will never forget. At Oxford High School, a sophomore student opened fire and killed four students and injured 11. This event hit home for Michigan and it caused many students to question their own safety in their own high school.

Cass Tech seniors were asked to participate in a survey regarding how safe they felt in school. The survey was administered on Google forms. One hundred seniors responded.

The survey results are as follows: 










After conducting the survey, the biggest takeaway was that students were angry and felt vulnerable. Students want access to mental health resources after traumatic events like these to help them cope with their feelings.
