Volunteering opportunities allow students to become active members of their community and to acquire life skills through providing services to those who need it most.
Henry Ford High School students traveled to Gleaners Community Food Bank located in Downtown Detroit over the holiday season. This experience gave students the opportunity to bond while increasing their awareness of the various needs of the community. It also provided students with the opportunity to meet their community service requirement needed to graduate.
“Volunteering not only benefits others, but it benefits me,” Henry Ford senior Marlene Barnett said. “I enjoy opportunities to do something that help others because it makes me feel better and helps me to be more appreciative of life overall."
