UPrep students go to the polls

Students at University Prep High School are signed up and ready to vote.

UPrep's student presidential election voting polls will open Nov. 7.

At UPrep, high school students have the opportunity to vote for the future president of the United States. Students will line up at the school to place their ballots for Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump.

“It will give the students a taste of civic duty and help them begin to create a political identity," UPrep drama teacher Mrs. Petrucci said.

Each student will be given a ballot so he or she can select a candidate. Results will be read on November 9 and the students will be able to see which candidate was chosen as their president.

“I’m voting for Hillary," said sophomore Melik Miner, who added that he is excited to vote. "She is really the only choice."
