Students show spirit at UPrep

It is okay to have school spirit: just ask this duo.

<p>Spirit Week this year sent a subtle wave of hype for the school's pep rally and homecoming dance. The week also caused students to realize they should never be afraid to step out of their comfort zones once in awhile and try something new.</p>

Spirit Week this year sent a subtle wave of hype for the school's pep rally and homecoming dance. The week also caused students to realize they should never be afraid to step out of their comfort zones once in awhile and try something new.

Two University Prep Academy students stood out in the crowd this year by demonstrating they have the right idea when it comes to Spirit Week. 

James McFolley and Shawn Pittman embraced the occasion by wearing entertaining costumes.

First, they dressed up as housewives on Tuesday; then, they dressed as old men with walkers on Wednesday. On Thursday they dressed up in clothes from the early 1900s.

The time they put into making their elaborate costumes astounded UPrep students..

Finally, Spirit Week helped students realize that senior year is about creating memories that they'll remember long after high school. 

 “They both have the right idea of Spirit Week," senior Jumyia Hawkins said. "Others should try to dress up as elaborate as them.”
