Coach Michele Lewis-Watts and the Crusaders’ volleyball team are working hard to have a successful season.  Lewis has been coaching and producing leaders for 10 years.

“I believe that sports is an excellent way for girls in particular to learn a lot of things whether that’s leadership or how strong they can be,” said Lewis. “The goal is always to help each player get better on and off the court.”

The team has many wins this season because of the talent on the team. Their current record is 7-1.

“We have quite a few talented girls who put a lot into getting better at the game,” said Lewis. “We have really good athletes that take this sports seriously and that want to get better and hold up the standard of King High School.”

“The fact that we can overcome the drama and play as a team is why we’re good,” said senior setter Casey McGlory.

The team holds Lewis in very high regard because she exemplifies hard work and determination.

“She never gives up on anybody,” said McGlory.  “She stays positive throughout all the games.”
