Team effort prepares Bulldog hoops team for playoffs

The Loyola basketball team is having a great season thanks to senior Blaine Woodland, left; senior Earnest Adams, center; and sophomore Pierre Mitchell.

The Loyola Bulldogs basketball team has been on fire.

Sophomore point guard Pierre Mitchell is on track for a single season assist record, and Loyola is currently 8­0 in the Catholic AA league before the playoffs began Feb. 20.

On Feb. 5, the team beat Bishop Foley, 72­-34. Senior forward Ernest Adams Jr. led the team with 19 points. The team finished with three other players shooting double figures.

The Bulldogs went on to earn a demanding win over Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard, 65­-44, on Feb. 12.
