Technology can help students discover the world, especially in Yolanda Agnew’s third-hour class. The students of that class are a part of the Geographic Information Systems program.

GIS focuses on gathering information on different geological areas, such as population in cities and parks. The program is similar to a census, but it’s more in depth, making it so that the students are able to find out more information.

The program also offers an internship once the students complete a certain amount.

After completing the program, students are able to acquire a job making $30,000-$40,000 a year without even obtaining a college degree.

“The program is amazing, and it provides methods to expand the world around us,” said Gionni Green, a sophomore student interested in pursuing a career in the program.

The program continues to move forward as it expands and grows from year to year.
