Signing Day was an emotional and beautiful day. Eight players from the East English Village football team signed National Letters of Intent to attend various colleges in the fall. This was a momentous occasion as family member and fellow classmates gathered in our school’s auditorium, which was filled to capacity on Feb 3.
One of those players, Lindrell Smith, signed with Ferris State University. He has been on our football team since his sophomore year. Lindrell has been playing wide receiver since he was 7 years old. Lindrell said he picked Ferris State because he felt like they were going to push him to be the best and has a winning program with back-to-back conference championships.
“Football has taken me to a lot of places so far, it taught me a lot. I feel like in the future, it will make me more successful and do a lot of justice for me,” Lindrell said.
EEVPA head coach Gerald Guerrant said: “I love my team; they deserve all of the chances they can get.”
