Douglass senior and varsity quarterback Elijah Juan Pearcy will play fooball at Trinity Bible college in North Dakota in the fall. Trinity Bible College is a Division III college.

“They were offering more and and I felt that it would be great moving out of state,” said Pearcy.

Pearcy was awarded a scholarship for football.

“I feel this is the right decision because I’m getting a free education and playing a sport that I love to play,” said Pearcy.

Pearcy has been playing at Douglass since he was a freshman. Pearcy also played four varsity seasons and started three of the four seasons on varsity football as quarterback.

“My mom was pretty sad over the distance but overall proud of me,” said Pearcy.

Pearcy’s mom Ebony Mahone said she is happy but sad at the same time because of how far he’s going to be.

“I’m very happy for my son going to college,” said Mahone. “Not happy about the distance but I know he will do good and stay focus.”
