Federick Douglass teacher Katherine Temple decided to pull together resources with some teachers and students and help collect toiletries for a homeless shelter in need. Some young men who felt bad about the conditions the people at the shelter had to endure took it among themselves to volunteer and help.
“ I just want to show people that there are some people out here that do care. And I want to really help those that are in need,” said Temple. “I decided to get the kids involved so that they can really understand that you should try your best to help out those who need it.”
On Nov. 22, the items were donated to a homeless shelter.
