By Ari Ware Staff Writer

On Jan. 19th, King High School Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with its sixth annual Legacy March, “The Dream Live. We will change the world.”

There was great preparations for this annual event from preparing the school to getting all those involved in place. Each year guest are toured through the school reliving and viewing reenactments of various events during this time period. Guest are given a colored ticket. Each ticket represents white or black and it changed throughout the tour.

The tour showed representations of how blacks made a living in Detroit, the Klu Klux Klan in a meeting, an explanation of the term “picnic,” the trail to freedom, and many more.

King drama students recreated the Nashville sit-in where they told the stories of the several college students. The reenactments were so realistic and informative that people walked away feeling as if they were apart of the movement.
