Ben Carson: Senior interns complete end-of-semester projects

By Khaliah Blount Staff Writer

All Benjamin Carson students in the Senior Internship Program (SIP) were required to present an end-of-semester 15-minute PowerPoint presentation, sharing out their internship experiences with their peers and the supervisors from their respective site. The students were evaluated using a rubric where they needed to give an overview about their site, their responsibilities, challenges, successes, special projects worked on and what they learned overall.

“I really enjoy the work I’m doing at Harper Hospital. You have to have a lot of patience to work in ICU,” senior Jackeitha Roberson said.

The interns were able to share with their superiors their experiences and to receive feedback from them on how they performed the first quarter. The feedback the students received will be used to direct their activities in the second semester.

“I was very nervous because we were presenting to our supervisors,” senior Angel Jones said. “My team got an A so our professionalism must have shown through.
